  • Push notification tokens (device identifiers for Expo push notifications)

  • Credit/debit card information (processed and stored by Stripe, not by Belmore Cove)

  • General location for finding nearby storefronts
  • Delivery and pickup addresses

Usage Data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Belmore Cove platform
  • Process transactions between Buyers and Sellers
  • Send transactional communications (order confirmations, delivery updates)
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve and personalize your experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, our database provider, with servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and regular security audits.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or comply with legal obligations. Specifically:

  • Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with tax and financial reporting requirements.
  • Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized, and individual session data is retained for no more than 12 months.
  • Error and diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days.

6. Payment Processing

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you provide payment information, it is transmitted directly to Stripe using their secure infrastructure. Belmore Cove does not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by their Privacy Policy.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:

  • Sellers/Buyers: To facilitate transactions (e.g., sharing delivery address with Sellers)
  • Service Providers: Third-party companies that help us operate the platform, including Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (database and authentication), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), Resend (transactional email), Expo (push notifications), Twilio (SMS notifications for order updates), and Google Places API (address autocomplete)
  • Authentication Providers: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address, and account identifier from those services solely to create and manage your account
  • Apple (StoreKit): If you subscribe through the iOS app, Apple processes your subscription payment and shares transaction details with us to manage your plan
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority

8. SMS/Text Messaging

By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS/text messages from Belmore Cove for:

  • Order confirmations and updates
  • Delivery notifications
  • Account verification
  • Important platform announcements

Opt-Out: You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings. Message and data rates may apply.

10. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

  • Request deletion of your data (which you can also do directly in the app)
  • Restrict how we process your data

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and our service providers' data protection measures to safeguard these transfers.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes (such as tax records). See Section 5 for detailed retention periods.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to Know: You can request information about what personal data we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal data, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal data, but you have the right to opt out of any future sales.

12. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account directly from the app by navigating to your account settings and selecting "Delete Account." You may also request deletion by emailing support@belmorecove.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request."

When you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (for example, transaction records for tax compliance). Retained data will be deleted when no longer legally required.

13. Children's Privacy

Belmore Cove is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at support@belmorecove.com and we will promptly delete it.

14. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit
  • Encryption at rest for stored data
  • Regular security assessments
  • Access controls and authentication

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
